Dar es Salaam. The Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) has broken its own record in revenue collection by gathering a total of Sh828 billion in the 2017/18 financial year compared to what was collected in the previous years.

This was revealed by TPA director general Deusdedit Kakoko during a conference with reporters to discuss the state of operation of TPA for the year 2013/14 and 2017/18. Mr Kakoko said that the revenue collected for financial year 2017/18 constituted a 12.7 per cent increase of what was collected in the previous financial year due to improvement in the management and supervision of services carried out by TPA.

“For the year 2016/17 a total of Sh734 billion was collected as of the performance of TPA for the last 5 years (2013/14 – 2017/18) revenue collected has been increasing by 10.7 per cent,” said Kikoko.
