Seleman, who was the director general of Tanzania Airport Authority (TAA) and led Simba SC from 1998 to 2000, was buried at Kisutu graveyards in the city yesterday.
His seriousness in resolving club matters made Simba SC members and fans to nickname him “Boris Yeltsin”, the name of the first President of the Russian Federation, who served from 1991 to 1999.
Yelstin, who led the Lions from 1998 to 2000, failed to swim and drowned.
The late Selemani was used to practice swimming at the beach every morning, but he was overwhelmed by currents of water this time around.
Former Simba Sports club chairman Hassan Dalali said his death had shocked them because late Saidi was forefront in supporting the team. Simba president Evans Aveva said Selaman had left a gap and that the club was mounting his death.
