Dar es Salaam. Tanzania national football team (Taifa Stars) have set up residential camp ahead of the World Cup qualifiers against Niger and Morocco.

Taifa Stars will on November 18 play away against Niger and three days later will host Morocco at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Among the players who have got a call-up in the team are attacking midfielder Feisal “Fei Toto” Salum from Azam FC and goalkeeper Aishi Manula of Simba SC.

However, experienced defenders Shomari  Kapombe and Mohamed Hussein ‘Tshabalala’, both featuring for Simba SC, are still out of the favour of Taifa Stars head coach Adel Amrouche.

Prior to his call-up, Fei Toto had to find himself missing two selections by the head coach after being out of active football for over six months following his boycott to feature for his former Yanga team.

Fei Toto has now joined other 34 players in the Stars’ provisional squad ahead of the international encounters.

Taifa Stars have been drawn in group E of the FIFA World Cup 2026 African Qualifiers. The country’s envoys will have to get the better of giants Morocco, Zambia, Guinea and Eritrea in order to seal for the finals.

The draw was among the agendas of the CAF 45th Ordinary General Assembly.

However, the 2026 World Cup finals will jointly be hosted by three countries namely Canada, Mexico and America.

Two top teams from each group of the African Qualifiers will book a ticket for the world’s biggest football tournament to be watched all over the world.
