The decorated golfer is returning to the event as the defending champion, having clinched the 2023 title in commanding fashion.
“I’m excited to be part of this year’s edition once again. Preparations have already started, and I’m working to be in peak form ahead of tee-off,” said Madina.
The Ghana Ladies Amateur Open is one of the region’s most prestigious women’s amateur golf tournaments, attracting elite golfers from across West, East, and Central Africa.
The 2025 edition, as highlighted in the official event poster, is being organized in partnership with the Ghana Golf Association and Centre of the World Golf Club.
The event will feature multiple categories including Championship, support, and seniors.
In the 2023 edition, Madina delivered a career-defining performance.
She overcame a slow start and went on to dominate the field across three rounds, completing the final day with a spectacular one-under-par 71 to finish with an aggregate score of 224 gross.
Her opening round score was 77 gross, followed by 76 gross on day two before her decisive closing round performance.
Madina’s triumph came against a strong international field featuring competitors from seven countries, including Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda, Togo, and others.
Her 18-shot margin of victory was a testament to her focus, resilience, and technical ability under pressure.
This year, expectations are high once again as Madina looks to defend her crown and fly the Tanzanian flag on the continental stage.
The Arusha-based golfer is regarded as one of Tanzania’s most consistent performers in regional competitions, and her presence in Ghana is set to add star power to the event.

For Madina Idd, it’s more than just a title defense — it’s an opportunity to reinforce Tanzania’s growing presence in African golf.
