MSC win Isamilo swimming champs

Dar es Salaam. Mwanza Swim Club (MSC) has emerged the overall winners of the Isamilo invitational swimming championship held recently in Mwanza region.
The club has collected a total of 3087.5 points in the two days event to win gold medal. MSC managed to score 1327 in the men category and 1502.5 in the women categories respectively.
The second place was won by International School of Moshi (Ism-Moshi Campus) after collecting 1714.5 points in total while Morogoro finished third with 1465 points and Bluefins in the fourth with 1122 points in the event featured 13 teams in each men and women.
Other teams and their points and position in brackets are Taliss Swim Club (957 points, 5th), Braeburn Arusha (761 points, 6th), St. Constantine’s (694 points, 7th), Wahoo Zanzibar (557 points, 8th) and Kennedy House which scored 401.5points and finished ninth.
Also in the list are Dar Swim Club (331 points, 10th), Champions Rise (239 points, 11th), Loreto Girls (235 points, 12th) and Geita Gold International which has scored 193 points and placed bottom.
The championship was very competitive and was organized by the hosts, Isamilo International School. The event featured many talented swimmers from various clubs in both Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar.
Dar Swim Club (DSC) coach, Kanisi Mabena said they are happy to feature in the event that saw swimmers from various parts in Tanzania. Mabena said the championship has helped them to gauge the level of their swimmers who are national backbone in the country.
“We came here with four U-10 years swimmers, they have gained a lot as they have featured in all events, and Isobel Bush (8) managed to compete in eight events while Riona Muriithi (8) featured in eight events and Anna-Clara Azzoni (10) who featured in eight different events. Lerato Foya was also in the list and featured in three events,” said Mabena.
