Pemba. The ruling party Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) in Zanzibar has issued a call to action to voters in the Pandani and Mtambwe constituencies, currently held by ACT Wazalendo urging them to return to the party in the 2025 general election.

Khamis Mbeto Khamis, Secretary of the Special Committee of the CCM's National Executive Committee (NEC) for Ideology, Publicity, and Training, made this appeal during his visit to the Wete District of Pemba.

He emphasized the crucial role of party members in ensuring victory by registering all eligible voters and strengthening the party's presence in the constituencies.

"Our fellow citizens in Pandani and Mtambwe are suffering due to the lack of CCM representatives," Mbeto stated. He criticized the current opposition representatives for failing to address the needs of the people and remaining largely absent from their constituencies.

Furthermore, he accused the opposition party, ACT-Wazalendo, of misappropriating development funds intended for the constituencies.

He alleged that the funds, amounting to Sh20 million shillings for the area representative and Sh35 million shillings for MP, are being channeled into the pockets of leaders and the party instead of being used for the intended purpose of improving the lives of citizens.

Mbeto urged voters to change their political affiliation and choose CCM leaders in the upcoming elections. He declared CCM as the only political party with the experience and resources to effectively manage, coordinate, and address the challenges faced by citizens in both urban and rural areas.

He dismissed claims made by opposition politicians that CCM will be voted out of power, asserting that the party's development initiatives will ensure its continued success.
