Confirming that he is indeed fit, the 87 year told said he had gone on a brisk-walking exercise for one and half hours today morning.

Mzee Kingunge asked wananchi to ignore rumours that went abuzz on social media since Thursday November 9 that he was hospitalized and that retired president Jakaya Kikwete had paid him a visit.

Earlier, a photo was circulated on social media, showing Jakaya Kikwete and former first lady Salma Kikwete at MNH; as paying a visit to Kingunge Ngombale-Mwiru who appeared to be laying in a hospital bed. But it was later confirmed the photo had been actually taken years back.

Ngombale-Mwiru ditched the ruling party CCM during the 2015 campaigns for general election. Since then, he has subscribed to the views of the opposition.

However, he hasn’t officially joined any other political party.
