CONTROVERSIAL CAMPAIGN IN DAR: President Magufuli appointed and swore in Mr Rogers Sianga as commissioner general of the Drugs Control and Enforcement Authority at the height of a controversial war on drugs in Dar es Salaam spearheaded by the regional commissioner, Mr Paul Makonda. Mr Makonda drew praise and condemnation in equal measure when he publicly named dozens of people, including businesspeople, artistes and politicians, and directed them to report to Central Police Station for questioning.
