German firm connects 30,000 households in TZ, Rwanda

Arusha. Mobisol Tanzania, a company based in Berlin, Germany which started its operations in Tanzania four years ago, has sold over 30,000 solar home systems to households in Tanzania and Rwanda. Apart from selling solar home systems, the company supports government’s and communities’ social and economic development initiatives through its corporate social responsibility program.
As part of the celebration of the 30,000th customer who was reached on the 21st October, 2015, Mobisol management decided to honor that customer and make him a “hero” in his home village of Ngasamo in Busega, Simiyu Region. November 14th was chosen as the day of celebrating the achievement of the 30,000th customer, and in connection to that the company provided a solar home system worth Sh3,261,400 to the dispensary in Ngasamo.
Meanwhile, the company has opened a market hub for its products in the heart of Arusha in a bid to access its products and services to more people.
This means that all residents of Arusha can easily access Mobisol products and services from their newly recently launched regional office located on Pangani Street in the central business district (CBD). Other Mobisol sales points in Arusha region are located in Lolovono Sokon 1 ward next to and in Maji ya Chai in Arumeru district along the highway to Moshi.
The official launch for the latter selling outlet took place on Monday went hand in hand with a donation of a 200W system worth Sh. 3.2 million to Kipefu primary school in Maji ya Chai. The system was financed via crowdfunding facilitated by a Berlin sustainability organization called Reset.
Speaking during the event Mobisol’s marketing manager Chimwemwe Mkandawire said the firm has installed more than 6,000 solar home systems in Arusha region since it started operations.
It plans to install more gadgets and expand its service to at least 10,000 solar home systems in the region by the end of next year.
