ONE MAN'S VIEW: Slay queens never make it to the alter

There’s this breed of young beautiful women known as “slay queens” in social media – they slay the hearts of many men and leave them bleeding. They are the type that spend all their time wanting to create an impression that they are the most beautiful and sophisticated for the liking of most men. Unfortunately, men, although they notice and use them like a mop, end up marrying that “average” girl next door. Indeed, more less attractive women are getting married every weekend as the beauty queens lie in wait for prince charming. The danger is as the saying goes, they will have kissed many frogs (and perhaps toads).

Slay queen is a woman who wants to choke everyone else with how beautiful and cool they think there are. They exaggerate their persona – what they eat, where they live and what kind of a car they “own” even if it was bought for them by the last married “sponsor.” It is that girl who told you that a gentleman must match his shoes and belt, yet her face and neck, her lips don’t match? That’s a slay queen.

They reckon that they are marriageable but looks like men ceased to look at the physical looks and instead, are more interested in the inner beauty. Indeed, many literally parade themselves in men’s pathways hoping to catch one of them but end up being overused. Men these days look for a mate who is brainy, well-mannered and homely.

If you doubt this, please notice that the more weddings you have attended, the more you have realized it is not always about the looks. If a woman chooses to be a man’s trophy wife, then I guess it is alright. Looks and brains can get you a crown but if you do not tame them, you might never get that ring because unlike a beauty contest, marriage is not only for the good-looking.
