What you need to know:

  • Their success should teach us that you don’t need to be an adult or reach a certain stage to successfully exhaust your talents. We see our senior players in both men and women national teams struggle to succeed.

Have you ever been to India? What did you go to do there? For how long did you stay? How about being commended by the president?

How about being watched and followed by people from different parts of the world?

The answer to this and many more you will get from our sisters, the players of Tanzania National team under 17, the Serengeti girls.

When the year ends and we happen to assess what we have achieved as a country in sports, it is obvious that Serengeti girls will stand on the top list of our country’s success. No one will surpass them this year given that our senior team won’t be in Qatar by November, for the big tournament.

The girls have achieved a feat no team in Tanzania has ever achieved in football. They qualified for world cup by defeating the African giants.

When people thought that they were going just to participate, the girls went to compete against the giants of the world and they made us proud.

Did you know that France is currently the football world champion? This is the country where Zidane, Mbape, and Benzema who are some of the world’s finest footballers come from. Their girls were humbled in Goa by our sisters. Indeed our sisters deserve applause.

Their success should teach us that you don’t need to be an adult or reach a certain stage to successfully exhaust your talents. We see our senior players in both men and women national teams struggle to succeed.

Don’t wait to explore your talent. You only need to start with determination and you will find your way. Discover your talent and nurture it.

Serengeti Girls have taught us to value our talents and to work on them seriously even at our young age.
