Dar es Salaam.Zanzibar will show case its tourism potential in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and other Gulf countries through journalists scheduled to visit the country at the end of the month.
According to a statement issued yesterday by the Zanzibar Commission for Tourism and Grassroots Traveller, Dubai-based PR agency - Grace & Garbo – will be in the Isles from 25 to 30 November accompanied by various media personnel with the intention of promoting Zanzibar as a tourist destination in the Middle East.
Grassroots Traveller has partnered with Grace & Garbo for the promotion drive.
The two have blessings of the ministry of Information, Culture, Tourism and Sports of Zanzibar as well as the Zanzibar Commission for Tourism.
“We understand the visit will be a good opportunity for Zanzibar as an emerging tourist destination within the East African zone and world-wide to expose her tourism products and services. The visitors will also explore the beauty of Zanzibar and inform prospective clientele,” noted Mr Issa Mlingoti, principal secretary of the ministry of Information, Culture, Tourism and Sports.
Grassroots Traveller’s managing director Hafsa Mbamba called on tourism stakeholders to avail themselves and their services for the lifestyle media opportunity that will be showcased in the Gulf States.
According to Ms Mbamba, Destination Zanzibar under Grassroots Traveller offers first hand, authentic and untamed experiences of Zanzibar.
“It offers opportunities for the local travel industry to meet with reputable and travel related media. It is a forum to network and showcase Zanzibar as a destination and gain media spotlight through and through,” she said.
She added that participating tourism related stakeholders in the event will benefit from strategic exposure, effective business leads and inside media access.
