Songea. Five members of the ruling party Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) have collected nomination forms to contest the Songea Urban parliamentary seat as the party’s internal nomination process kicked off on Saturday, June 28, 2025.

Songea Urban District CCM Secretary James Mgego confirmed the development, saying the party continues to receive members interested in contesting for parliamentary, councillorship, and special seats ahead of the October General Election.

Mr Mgego noted that the nomination process will resume on Sunday, June 29, and continue until Tuesday, July 2, with daily operations ending at 4pm.

He commended aspirants for complying with party directives that prohibit supporters’ processions, drumming and the use of bicycles, motorcycles or vehicles during form collection.

Those who have collected forms to seek CCM’s endorsement for the Songea Urban parliamentary seat are Hemed Ahmed Challe, John Makarius Mbano, Shakira Mohamed Sady, Mr Koyoya Alfred Fuko and Amandus Jordan Tembo.
