Dodoma. “There is a time to step down. There is a time to willingly let go of one job and do another. There is a time to work and a time to rest.” These are the words of former Chama Cha Mapinduzi Secretary General Mr Abdulrahman Kinana as he addressed CCM MPs during a farewell dinner they had prepared for him. Mr Kinana added, “I have chosen rest.” And this is what other leaders must learn from Mr Kinana, said Speaker Job Ndungai at the event. “The words that Kinana has spoken teach us one thing, there is no greater respect in political leadership as when one decides to willingly say ‘it is enough’. Especially if it is at the peak of their career. This is a great lesson that our comrade Kinana has taught us,” he said. He went on to say that, “A lot of MPs leave in a shady manner. We wait for the media to write about it. It shouldn't be that way. Let us be like our brother Kinana,” he said. At the event, Kinana reminded the CCM MPs of the good old days. “We have worked together to strengthen the party, especially during the three years between 2013 and 2015. We worked hard in 2015, and we won big. We have led great changes within the party. And I am sure that you will agree with me, it is best to gain new strength to keep the manifesto alive, after this hard work. “I congratulate you Dr Bashiru Ally for your appointment. And I wish you all the best. I have no doubt that you will get a lot of support.” Kinana said.
