Dorcas Aid Tanzania in partnership with Tunajali Development Initiatives are implementing (Future for Children) F4C and Integrated Farm Planning (‘Plan Intégré du Paysan’ hence the acronym ‘PIP’) project in Dodoma at Chemba District. We are working in collaboration with local communities, government agencies, other NGOs, and international organizations to maximize the impact of our projects and reach those most in need. We are driven by a commitment to social justice, alleviating poverty, and empowering marginalized communities.
Role Overview:
The PIP-project approach aims to foster resilient farming systems and resilient landscapes which contributes to sustainable local development. Enabling small scale farms to resist and recover from shocks (such as droughts, excessive rainfall, pest infestations and so on) to enhance food system hence food security. The purpose of the position is to support the project implementation in line with set targets and in full compliance with donor requirements and Dorcas operating policies. To work closely with project implementing partners, Government, Communities, Stakeholders, and the Dorcas staff for the implementation of project activities in target communities and ensure a high level of quality and effective performance.
Main Responsibilities:
• Support the availability of farm inputs and facilitate their applications.
• Support farmers in developing their farm plans and train them on Good Agronomical Practices (GAP)
• Support the implementation of Project activities according to the set objectives and plans of action, ensuring compliance with the project goal and donor requirements.
• Support the Project Coordinator to work closely with project partners, stakeholders, communities, and Dorcas staff to ensure high-quality and effective performance.
• Monitor, evaluate and document farmers progress in collaboration with the Project Coordinator to ensure record keeping of monthly, semi-annual, and annual basis progress against the stated objectives.
• Regular site visit monitoring of the progress of all activities in the field.
Knowledge and qualifications for the role:
• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture general, Agricultural extension, Agribusiness, or related field
• With minimum to 2-3 years of experience in the related field
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
• Good Communication and planning skills
• Experience in a motorcycle ride preferred.

2nd Position: Social Worker
Location: Chemba, Dodoma
Contract: As soon as possible for a period of one year, with a possible extension of the contract.
Full-time: 40 hours per week
Role Overview:
The Field Officer will play a crucial role in the successful implementation of the Future for Children (F4C) project. He/She will be supporting project implementation in field activities, engaging with beneficiaries, and ensuring the smooth execution of project interventions. Engaging with vulnerable children is a key responsibility of the field officer in the F4C project. This involves conducting frequent site visits to provide support and monitor child development initiatives. The field officer will organize community meetings to raise awareness about project objectives and activities. In terms of data collection and monitoring, the field officer would gather data on child matters while also evaluating project implementation.
Main Responsibilities:
i. Plan and actualize community mobilization and conduct village meetings.
ii. Facilitate child registration through an online child database.
iii. Identify potential local stakeholders and potential partners in the areas of child safeguarding.
iv. Ensure timely completion of work plans, budgets, reports, input requisitions, and any other requisition as may be dimmed desirable are completed or requested on time.
v. Identify needs, challenges, and opportunities to foster project outcomes in the project areas and discuss with the project coordinator.
vi. Act as the key contact person between the organization and the parents/guardians or local partners.
Knowledge and qualifications for the role:
• Bachelor's degree in either Community development, Socio- work, rural development, public health, sociology, or any related field from recognized institution.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in Child related projects and/or community development, or related fields
