Dodoma. Airtel Tanzania has expanded mobile and internet access in Singida, Dodoma, and Shinyanga following the launch of four new network towers, strengthening connectivity in communities that previously experienced limited network coverage.
The newly commissioned infrastructure includes one tower in Mbungia, Singida; two towers in Mpunguzi, Dodoma; and one tower in Ngokoro, Shinyanga. The investment forms part of Airtel’s continued efforts to improve reliable and high-quality communication services across the country.
Speaking during the launch event in Dodoma on January 15, 2026 Mpunguzi Ward Councillor Isaya Aidan praised Airtel for investing in the area, describing the new tower as a key driver of local development. He urged young people in Mpunguzi to take full advantage of improved connectivity to access digital businesses, financial services, and employment opportunities.
In Singida, the newly launched Mbungia tower is expected to improve network reach and service quality for surrounding communities.
Singida Zonal Branch Manager Lethil Yamungu said the development will enable residents to remain connected, access mobile financial services, and participate more actively in the digital economy.
During the launch in Ngokoro, Shinyanga, Airtel Zonal Manager George Mwakabungu said the tower will significantly improve communication reliability in the area.
He noted that residents can now make calls with ease, access the internet, and use mobile services to support business activities and information access.
A resident of Mbungia, Singida, welcomed the development, saying the availability of reliable connectivity will allow local businesses to market products digitally, sell online, and reach wider markets beyond their immediate communities.
