Decreasing Mindu water level worries authorities

Morogoro. Water level at Mindu dam has dropped, affecting provision of water services to the growing and bustling Morogoro Municipality.

Morogoro Regional Administrative Secretary, Dr John Ndunguru has appealed to people near the dam to stop human activities as a way of safeguarding it.

Speaking during a tree planting campaign, Dr Ndunguru noted that conservation of Mindu dam was crucial as it was the lifeline of Morogoro municipal and its environs.

Dr Ndunguru also launched three wells which have been built to mitigate the growing water shortage.

He urged the authorities charged with taking care of the dam to engage the surrounding communities as they were important for the upkeep of the facility.
