University of Iringa appoints Prof Edward Hoseah interim Vice Chancellor

Iringa. The University of Iringa Council has named Professor Edward Gamaya Hoseah the interim Vice Chancellor.

Prof Edward Hoseah, a legal scholar from the University of Iringa, had previously held the position of Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Law at the university and has also served as a part-time lecturer at institutions including the Center for Foreign and International Relations at the Open University of Tanzania and the University of Dar es Salaam.

Furthermore, he has been a visiting scholar at prestigious institutions such as Northwestern Law School in Chicago, Illinois and Duke Law School in North Carolina.

Before this new role, Prof Hoseah served in various capacities, including as Legal Secretary to the Chief Justice, Deputy Registrar at the High Court of Tanzania, Director of Operations at PCB, Director of Investigation at PCCB, Director General at PCCB, and as a Board member of the African Union Board on Corruption in Addis Ababa.

He also held esteemed positions such as President of the East African Association for Anti-Corruption Authority (EAACA) and President of the Tanganyika Law Society.

Prof Hoseah is also a prolific author, having contributed to numerous books, book chapters, and co-authored works focusing on topics such as corruption in Tanzania, anti-corruption efforts and the legal principles surrounding these issues.
