Dar es Salaam. A recently released World Bank and S&P Global Container Port Performance Index (CPPI), which raised the Port of Dar es Salaam’s Port Performance Index (PPI), indicates just how recent improvements were yielding fruits.
The port rose from 360th position globally in 2024 to 255th in 2025, becoming the highest-ranked port in East Africa as Tanzania seeks to strengthen its position as a gateway to regional markets.
