Dar es Salaam. Prominent professional boxer in the country Francis “SMG” Cheka has failed to shine against Abdallah “Dulla Mbabe” Pazi after being knocked out in the sixth rounds.

The bout at the PTA Hall, saw the two boxers fighting with determination in five rounds, before Pazi’s right punch taking down Cheka who failed to beat 10 mandatory counts.

This is the 13th loss for the Morogoro based professional boxer who gained popularity after beating two prominent professional boxers from Matumla’s family, Rashid (Snake Man) and Hassan “Red Bull”. Before beating Matumla’s family boxers, Cheka also won against prominent boxers namely, Maneno Oswald, Mada Maugo, Japhet Kaseba, Kalama Nyilawila and the late Thomas Mashali.

The boxer’s prominence rose after registering an unanimous decision (UD) victory against United States (US) boxer, Phil Williams to crown World Boxing Federation (WBF) Super Middleweight world title on August 30, 2013. Cheka recorded 109-119, 111-117 and 113 -116 points.

But in recent years, Cheka has failed not show impressive fights losing to Enes Zecirevic of Bosnia during the fight held in Switzerland and later losing by TKO to Dariusz Sek of Poland. “I found myself down and I did not know what was going on, but I am still capable to fight him, I’m congratulating him on his victory, I was not in my top form,” said Cheka.

For his part, Pazi said he is now targeting foreign professional boxers after almost beating all super middleweight boxers in the country. Pazi has so far improved his record with 25 wins (22 by KO), six loses and one draw.

“I always sought a fight with him because I knew that I would win, my dream has come true, I have to find boxers outside the country as there is no one who can fight with me, ” said Pazi.
