U17 Afcon: Morocco coach hails players after Senegal draw

Dar es Salaam. Morocco’s Under-17 soccer team coach, Jamal Sellami, has showered praise on his players after battling to a 1-1 draw against Senegal.

He acknowledged that Senegal is a good team, and that forcing them to a draw was a clear indication that his lads are capable of booking a place in the semi-finals of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon).

He said he was confident that their next two games against Cameroon and Guinea will not be tough for them.

“I am optimistic that we will beat both Cameroon and Guinea because they are not as strong as Senegal,” he said.

He said they are not wary of Cameroon, who beat Guinea in their first match at the Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam.

Morocco, Cameroon, Senegal and Guinea are in Group B in the Under-17 Afcon finals, which started on April 14 in Dar es Salaam.

There will be no games today and the tournament resumes tomorrow with Nigeria taking on Angola, whereas  Sedrengeti Boys will tussle with Uganda’s Cubs
