Deputy Minister for Works, Transport and Communications Mr Atashasta Nditiye was responding to a question asked in the National Assembly by Mr Constantine Kanyasu (Geita Urban-CCM).

Mr Kanyasu wanted to know when the government will build the railway which will also connect Rwanda and Burundi as absence of the railway and electricity delayed development of Kabanga Nickel project.

The government has already started construction of the standard gauge railway from Dar es Salaam to Morogoro (202km) and Morogoro - Makutupora (336km).

The railway will also include Makutupora - Tabora (294km), Tabora - Isaka (133km) and Iaska - Mwanza (254km) which will complete 1,219km.
