26 held so far in connection with billionaire Mo Dewji abduction

Six more people have been arrested in connection with disappearance of Africa’s youngest billionaire Mohammed Dewji, who was abducted on Thursday at a swanky hotel in Dar es Salaam.

Dar es Salaam. The number of people arrested in connection with the abduction of billionaire Mohammed Dewji has reached 26.

Dar es Salaam Special Zone Police Commander Lazaro Mambosasa said six more suspects are being questioned in connection with the incident which occurred four days ago in Dar es Salaam. This is an addition to the 20 suspects who had been arrested since Friday.

Mr Mambosasa said those arrested, including Mr Haji Manara spokesperson for the Simba Sports Club which Mo Dewji owns by 49 per cent shares; are being interrogated as part of the investigations.

Meanwhile, a crackdown is ongoing at all the country’s borders and hotels, said Mambosasa. Earlier, reports claimed that Mr Dewji was abducted by two Caucasians.
