Iringa. Hehe acting Chief Jerad Mkwavinyika Malangalila has hailed President John Magufuli’s style of lancing boils that has been giving members of the public the hope of having a corrupt-free country in the future.

He said President Magufuli had shown not only Tanzanians, but also the world at large that he had the country’s interest at heart and aimed at having national resources shared equally among the people.

“President Magufuli has gained popularity among the people, who had lost hope of having true leaders, who truly care for the people and the country at large,” he said.

Chief Malangalila said this, when he was visited at his home town in Wema Village, Iringa District.

He noted that the country had a long way to go to attain discipline amongst its people, public servants and even its leaders that would ensure they protected the resources the country was endowed with to help develop the country instead of depending on donors as it had been the case for years, while the resources were being mismanaged.

Meanwhile, he expressed his disappointment to the fact that chiefs were no longer recognised as important traditional leaders.

According to him, the country has since stopped recognising chiefs as traditional leaders, who have experience and knowledge to advise the government in some of its tasks.

“The government should not take us for granted as we are in a good position to advise public leaders on important issues, including the day-to-day running of the parliament as well as budget preparations, as we have the same political zeal as any other leader to see our country develop,” he stressed.
