Moshi.  Singida West MP (Chadema) Tundu Lissu that has been discharged from hospital, addressed a campaign rally for councillorship seats on August 7, 2018 on WhatsApp voice call while in Belgium, where he is receiving treatment.

Addressing a campaign rally to residents of Mawenzi Ward in Kilimanjaro Region, Mr Lissu called upon them to continue voting for Chadema defectors so the latter could keep bringing about development for Moshi Township.

He gave the address after he had been phoned on WhatsApp by the ward councillorship seat aspirant, Afrikana Mlay (Chadema), during a campaign rally in which the voice of Lissu could be heard through a loud speaker.

Lissu called upon the residents to stop being coward and instead they should turn out en mass on August, 12 to cast their votes for eligible leaders.

“As residents of Moshi and for the respect for Mzee (the late Phillemon) Ndesamburo, I earnestly call upon you not to agree to go back to Egypt,” he said.

Mr Lissu was attacked with a barrage of bullets by unknown assailants at his Dodoma home on September 7, 2017.

After being wounded, the outspoken politician was briefly treated at Dodoma Regional Hospital before being flown to Nairobi for further medical attention and on January 6 he was transferred to Belgium hospital.
