I'll give you the change you crave, Magufuli woes crowd

What you need to know:

The CCM candidate said at public rallies he addressed in Misungwi and Magu districts that Tanzanians should prepare themselves to work hard because he will not tolerate lazy servants.

Misungwi/Magu. CCM presidential candidate John Magufuli yesterday called on Tanzanians to think twice and vote for him in the next Sunday’s General Election because he was prepared to bring about the real change that Tanzanians are craving.

The CCM candidate said at public rallies he addressed in Misungwi and Magu districts that Tanzanians should prepare themselves to work hard because he will not tolerate lazy servants.

Dr Magufuli told a mammoth rally that even scriptures have directed that he who does not work should not eat, and urged voters to be cautious of politicians who promise to bring them development for free.

“Let’s prepare ourselves to work…I will take Misungwi to where it is supposed to be once I am elected,” he told the rally here.

Dr Magufuli, like his main rival of the opposition Chadema, Edward Lowassa are viewing Mwanza as one of the strategic regions to play their last card to lure voters.

According to voter demographic information released by the National Electoral Commission (NEC), nine regions of the 30 in the country registered over 12 million voters, which is more than half of the total number of those in NEC’s official register.

Mwanza is the second leading region for having a huge number, registering 1.4 million voters after Dar es Salaam which registered 2.7 million.

Dr Magufuli said he was aware of the suffering to the people of Misungwi as a result of chronic water shortage and promised to end the woes once he is elected president.

“I know this country has enough money but is being embezzled by corrupt officials and a crook…that’s why some of them have left the party after I was elected CCM flag bearer,” said Dr Magufuli.

He added: “Today they are saying the government has done nothing while some are forgetting they have stayed in CCM until they lost teeth and got fixed with artificial teeth. Why didn’t they leave the party all that time? Asked Dr Magufuli.
