Msigwa removed from debating chamber, Bunge commends government decision on cashews

What you need to know:

Iringa Urban MP Rev Peter Msigwa (Chadema) has been removed from the debating chamber following misunderstanding between him and Deputy Speaker Tulia Ackson when Parliament resolved to praise President John Magufuli’s administration for its decision to purchase cashews this season.

Dodoma. Deputy Speaker Tulia Ackson ordered Iringa Urban Member of Parliament Rev Peter Msigwa out of the debating chamber as the House resolved to commend President John Magufuli’s decision to buy cashews from growing regions.

Dr Ackson’s decision came after heated arguments between her and Rev Msigwa as former claimed that the lawmaker was making noise.

The Deputy Speaker had ordered the MP about five times to take his seat, but the outspoken lawmaker refused.

Dr Ackson then resorted to the powers conferred to her and ordered the MP to leave the debating chamber, something the latter disobeyed, forcing her to direct the sergeants at arms to remove the MP from the debating chamber. The sergeants at arms successfully executed the order.

This happened today, Wednesday 14, during the evening session in Parliament in Dodoma.
