Simba, Mtibwa Sugar record wins

Dar es Salaam. Two goals scored by Clatous Chama and one from MeddieKagere were enough for Msimbazi Street giants, Simba, to  maintain their winning streak in the ongoing Mainland Tanzania Premier League.

The match held at the Samora Stadium in Iringa Region was very thrilling one as Chama scored in the fifth after a pin point pass from Mohamed Hussein.

Chama also scored the second in the 44thth through free kick just outside the danger zone. Kagere scored the third goal in the 57th after utilizing well a pass from Emmanuel Okwi.

Lipuli FC’s goal was scored by Paul Nonga in the 17th in the encounter that saw experienced defender Paul Ngalema,being red-carded in the 68th after fouling Zana Coulibaly.

The victory makes Simba continue sitting in the third position with 48 points from 19 matches while Lipuli is placed fifth with 38 points from 28 matches.

However, it was not an easy task for Simba to win the duel as they faced a strong opposition from Lipuli FC.  In the previous three matches, the two teams ended in 1-1 draw and one in  a barren draw.

Lipuli FC head coachSelemanMatola said they made mistakes that allowed Simba to score easily in the encounter.

“We lacked concentration on marking that made us lose the match. We also created clear scoring chances, but we failed to utilize them. This is part of the game as we are now focusing on other matches,” said Matola.

Simba head coach Patrick Aussems commended his players for the victory which enabled them to reduce the points gape.

“We did our best in the encounter. Our opponents were good and we were the best. Players have shown their commitments and we are celebrating the victory,” said Aussems.

In another match played at the Manungu Complex in Turiani, Morogoro Region, Mtibwa Sugar won 3-1 against Coastal Union. Mtibwa Sugar goals were scored by Dickson Daudi, JapharyKibaya and RifatKhamis. The Coastal Union goal was scored by AyoubLyanga.
