Muslims from Six countries to attend the Ahmadiyya annual convention

JalsaSalana is the formal, annual gathering of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community initiated by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, founder of the community who claimed to be the Promised Messiah and Mahdi of the end days. Usually, the gathering spans over three days, beginning on Friday after the Friday Sermon.
Dar es Salaam. Muslims from seven countries will tomorrow September 27 attend Ahmadiyya Community annual convention scheduled to take place at Kitonga in Ilala Municipality.
The convention dubbed JalsaSalana will bring together Ahmadiyya communities from Pakistan, Kenya, Malawi, Burundi, Uganda and Mozambique.
The event will also see Zanzibar’s Ahmadiyya muslims community and that of the host, Mainland Tanzania, bringing the number of 6,000 people, according to Sheikh Tahir Mahmood Chaudhry.
Sheikh Chaudhry said they have also invited President John Magufuli, diplomats, different religious leaders, and government officials to the convention which will discuss eight topics with the main being Ibada.
"The gathering will also review 85 years of performance since its establishment. It is a very important meeting that will involve different speakers who will also discuss various matters relating to Muslims in the country," said sheikh Chaudhry.
He explained that the Ahmadiyya Muslims Community has been involved in many social activities in Tanzania since its establishment in 1934 including fighting for the country's independence.
"We have donated water wells in various villages, districts, and regions including building schools, mosques in the areas via our institution known as Humanity First. We really feel comfortable in our operations and support from all stakeholders,” he said.
