TFF pays tribute to Lyon and Ruvu Shooting

Dar es Salaam. The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has congratulated African Lyon and Ruvu Shooting for winning promotion to the Premier League. After a year out in the cold, Ruvu Shooting, coached by former Mtibwa Sugar coach Tom Olaba is back into Tanzania’s top tier.

Ruvu qualified for next season’s premiership by finishing top of the First Division League’s Group B on 33 points, eight ahead of second placed Njombe Mji from 14 games.

The Mlandizi-based side joins African Lyon in the Premier League. Lyon topped Group A on 27 points, two ahead of KMC FC who finished second after 14 rounds. “The TFF wishes the two teams the best of luck in the 2016/17 Premier League season. We challenge them to prepare well for the topflight is more competitive,” read TFF’s statement.
