This brings the reach, availability and reliability needed to interconnect global communities and businesses.

Dar es Salaam. Tanzania’s businesspeople who intend to do business with their peers in other countries will not necessarily require to travel as a platform to connect them is available.

Six Telecoms Limited and Tata Communications of India have launched a Global Virtual Private Network (GVPN) which enables businesses to complete their transactions while in Tanzania.

Speaking during the launch of the VPN, Six Telecoms founder and managing director Rashid Shamte said the new network was aimed at raising businesses’ earnings by cutting travel costs.

With GVPN network, businesspeople can finalise their business activities at the comfort of their offices and avoid other costs like paying air tickets, inner transport, communication, meal and accommodation.

The GVPN has been installed in over 400 countries, giving businesspeople an opportunity to market their products globally. “This network gives Tanzanian businesses a global standard of connectivity that is enjoyed by Tata Communications’ customers across the world….it gives them a chance to expand their businesses worldwide at minimal costs,” said Mr Shamte. The company chose to work with Tata Communications due to the Indian firm’s global network including a wholly-owned fibre-optic submarine cable.

This brings the reach, availability and reliability needed to interconnect global communities and businesses.

“This partnership will give us a global reach,” he said.

The Tata Communications and Six Telecoms GVPN partnership will go a long way in providing advanced and innovative data and connectivity services. Global services and technologies with strong local implementation will support local business growth.
