Dar es Salaam. The Tanzania LPG Association (TZLPGA) convened a key stakeholder forum titled "Empowering Through Information: A Dialogue on Tanzania LPG Association Contributions to Clean Energy & Sustainability."

This event aimed to educate media representatives and key players in the LPG industry about the association's vision and its role in promoting sustainable development, clean energy, and socioeconomic progress through the use of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).

Established in 2023, TZLPGA represents six major companies involved in the trade of household gas cylinders, including Cam-Gas, O-Gas, Lake Gas, Taifa Gas, Oryx Gas, Manji Gas, and Puma Energy.

Director-General Amos Jackson emphasized the importance of accurate information in driving the adoption of LPG. "We believe that information dissemination will be crucial in achieving our national goal of expanding the use of LPG cylinders," he stated, acknowledging the media's role as key stakeholders.

He outlined the association's strategies, highlighting its commitment to "expanding the use of LPG technology to reduce carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency, and facilitate the use of clean energy alternatives."

Chairman Benoit Araman stressed the importance of stakeholder cooperation, stating, "We must support the government in revolutionizing the household gas sector to eliminate the environmental damage caused by charcoal use." He warned of the detrimental effects of charcoal on air quality and climate change.

The event received support from the Director-General of EWURA, Dr James Andilile, who endorsed the campaign to disseminate information on safe and responsible LPG usage for the nation's economic benefit.

TZLPGA pledged to collaborate with stakeholders to attract investment in promoting clean energy and its positive impacts on the energy sector and national development.
