Asley signs for Sony Music Africa

Dar es Salaam. Tanzanian singer, songwriter and producer, Aslay has officially joined the Sony Music Entertainment Africa Family, the label has announced.

He joins other Tanzanian singers who have been signed on the label in recent years such as Young Lunya and Abby Chams.

Aslay Isihaka Nassoro, aka Aslay a former lead singer of the Mkubwa na Wanae Band is gifted singer penmanship is revered, and he accompanies his well-written lyrics with riveting vocals, making him an exceptional storyteller and a force to reckon within the industry.

Speaking of the new recruit the head of Sony Music East Africa, Christine “Seven” Mosha, said she was thrilled to be signing the talented crooner.

“I am super proud to have an artist of Aslay stature join us at Sony Music Africa. Aslay is an exceptional singer and songwriter who has championed Bongo Flava genre across Africa and now globally, we’re thrilled to partner with him to bring his amazing talent and music to the ears of as many fans as we can globally.”


Aslay has recorded countless hits under his belt and has performed on countless stages across Africa, he has managed to carve his place in the East Africa space and is loved by both the young and who relate with his compositions.

With 5 million followers on Instagram, 2 million followers on Facebook and close to 1 million subscribers on his YouTube Channel, he represents the essence of the Bongo Flava genre, Tanzania’s signature sound.

When asked how he feels about joining the Sony family, Aslay said the opportunity was not only great for him but also for the Bongo Flava genre.
