Dar es Salaam. Tanzanian music superstar Diamond Platnumz quietly tied the knot with fellow Wasafi-signed artiste Zuchu in a traditional Islamic wedding held in April 2025, according to insiders.
Sources reveal the ceremony was officiated by Sheikh Walid Kawambwa, the Regional Sheikh of Dar es Salaam and attended only by close family and friends.
The news surfaced shortly after Diamond posted a striking photo on Instagram. In the now-viral image, he is seen in a white kanzu, placing a ceremonial veil over a seated Zuchu, who wore a flowing white Islamic dress, covered with Kanga, traditionally styled as a bride, far from the glitz often associated with celebrity weddings.
“Among the things I have learned is the maturity of staying silent… That kind of maturity requires a very high level of patience,” wrote Diamond in the post.
He added, “Honestly, it’s not an easy thing; it takes great tolerance of the highest kind. I can’t say I’ve mastered it fully, but I thank God for giving me the wisdom to manage it at the level He has. So I’ve spent a long time staying silent whenever people say things, which is why I now avoid doing interviews lately… It’s not easy, but the benefits are huge because the wars you fight are often spiritual, and when God is on your side, you win daily…”
