Unguja. Sauti za Busara festival in Zanzibar is searching for performers for its 22nd edition, set to be held from February 14th to 16th, 2025 at the Old Fort, Stone Town.

In a statement issued by organisers, the vibrant festival which celebrates the rich tapestry of African music and its diaspora called for up-and-coming, and established artists to submit their applications and showcase their talent, cultural heritage, and musical passion on the world stage.

The call for artists was opened from Monday April 1, 2024, until July 31, 2024 with emphasis put on original music with African roots, empowering women in music, fresh voices and rising stars, music with a message and it should be performed live.

The Sauti za Busara which is billed as one of Africa’s best music festivals has for over two decades, brought together artists from all over the continent, showcasing a diverse range of musical styles and traditions.

The 21st edition of Sauti za Busara, which was held in February 2024, featured a stellar cast of renowned and emerging musicians from across Africa and the diaspora, representing a wide spectrum of genres, including Afrobeat, jazz, reggae, folk, and traditional music.
