Facebook and Instagram down in apparent global outage

Washington. Facebook and Instagram experienced a significant outage, believed to be widespread, affecting Meta's platforms. Users encountered error messages and were unable to refresh their feeds.

Downdetector recorded over 300,000 outage reports for Facebook and over 20,000 for Instagram. The outage affected multiple countries globally.

Meta acknowledged the issue, stating their engineering teams are working on resolving it promptly.

"We're aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now," Meta spokesman Andy Stone said in a post on X.
