Dar es Salaam. Grade Six pupils at Aga Khan Nursery and Primary School have taken the lead in promoting environmental sustainability through their annual Primary Years Programme (PYP) exhibition, held this year under the theme How the World Works.

The event, which took place on May 8, showcased how young learners are applying scientific knowledge and principles to address real-world challenges in their communities—particularly environmental change.

Speaking during the exhibition launch, Head of School – Aga Khan Nursery and Primary, Blandina Duwe said the theme was a deliberate choice by the students, aiming to explore how science and scientific methods can bring about positive change.

“As a school, we prioritise sustainability, so we’ve integrated environmental education into our curriculum to ensure children not only learn, but also transfer their understanding into actions that create meaningful impact in society,” she said.
