Dar es Salaam. Tanzanian ambassadors in Germany, France, and Belgium commended President Samia Suluhu Hassan for her successful efforts to boost tourism. Their praise follows a surge in tourist arrivals to the country.

The ambassadors, Jestas Nyamanga (Belgium), Hassan Idd Mwamweta (Germany), and Jabir Mwadini (France), recently visited the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Their visit aimed to witness the area's tourist attractions, service improvements, and the growing number of visitors from their respective countries.

The leader of the ambassadors, Jestas Nyamanga, said that Belgium alone has approximately 16,000 tourists visiting Tanzania each year and that efforts are being made by the embassy to further increase this number.

"For the past two years since the launch of the Royal Tour film by the President, it has promoted our country, especially in Europe, where it has increased awareness of the attractions we have. Belgium alone has more than 16,000 tourists visiting Tanzania, and we have set strategies to double this number," said Ambassador Nyamanga.

Tanzania's Ambassador to Germany, Hassan Mwamweta, who also oversees Poland, Switzerland, the Vatican, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, and the Czech Republic, explained that the good diplomatic and economic relations established by President Hassan in those countries have led leaders from those nations to visit Tanzania and continue to see various investment opportunities and the richness of the tourist attractions the country possesses.

While in the Ngorongoro Crater, the Ambassador of Tanzania to France, Ali Mwadini, met tourists from France who expressed that they had learned more about Tanzania through the Royal Tour film made by the President and were persuaded to visit Tanzania for an eight-day tour of Zanzibar and Ngorongoro. They have promised to be good ambassadors when they return to their country.

In the Ngorongoro Conservation Area alone, from July 2023 to March 2024, a total of 750,220 tourists, including 283,460 domestic tourists and 466,760 foreign tourists, visited the area.
