Saudia wins best airline staff service at 2025 Skytrax Awards

Paris. Saudia, the national carrier of Saudi Arabia, has been named the “Best Airline Staff Service” at the 2025 Skytrax World Airline Awards, a major milestone that highlights the airline’s continued rise in global aviation standards. The award was announced on June 17 during the 55th edition of the Paris Air Show.
In addition to this prestigious accolade, Saudia advanced to 17th place globally in the Skytrax rankings, moving up three spots from the previous year. The rankings are based on millions of votes from international travelers, making the recognition a strong endorsement of the airline's service excellence across the entire guest journey.
“This award reflects the dedication of our incredible frontline team and the trust of our guests,” said Engr. Ibrahim Al-Omar, Director General of Saudia Group.
“Rising from 82nd to 17th in the Skytrax World Airline Rankings is a proud milestone—but it’s just the beginning. With bold investments and a clear vision, we’re on a journey to become one of the world’s leading airlines.”
Saudia’s service philosophy blends modern professionalism with traditional Saudi hospitality, a combination that has resonated well with customers across different markets. The airline’s staff—from ground crews to cabin attendants—were commended for delivering consistently composed and welcoming service.
Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax, praised the airline’s performance:
“Saudia’s cabin and ground staff maintain a service style that is both composed and welcoming. This is delivered consistently by a multi-national team that brings a range of cultural strengths to the customer experience.”
Saudia’s improvement in the rankings has been steady and impressive. The airline climbed from 82nd place in 2016 to 20th in 2024, and now ranks 17th in 2025. It has also been named the “World’s Most Improved Airline” by Skytrax for four consecutive years—a feat that reflects its relentless pursuit of quality and transformation.
This recognition aligns with the broader goals of Saudi Arabia’s National Transport and Logistics Strategy and the National Aviation Strategy, which aim to position the Kingdom as a global transportation hub while boosting tourism, Hajj and Umrah travel, sports, and entertainment sectors.
Saudia is currently undertaking the largest investment program in its history, focusing on expanding its global route network and doubling the size of its fleet. The airline is also revamping its in-flight experience by introducing fully redesigned cabin interiors, state-of-the-art inflight entertainment systems, and high-speed connectivity, aiming to surpass guest expectations.
The airline's latest win at the Skytrax Awards is seen as both a validation of past efforts and a signal of the transformation still to come as it accelerates toward becoming a global aviation leader.
