Uncertainty hangs over death of a nun at Bugando

Mwanza.The Finance and Planning Director for Bugando Medical Centre (BMC), Sister Susan Barthlomew, has died while receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit.

BMC' director Dr Abel Makubi said Susan saw her last day early yesterday. But the actual manner and cause of death remain uncertain.
Makubi said the facility' management had no mandate to disclose the cause of Susan' death. He said her fellow sisters at the headquarters in Ngara,Kagera region had that mandate.
"The fact is, our colleague is no more but with us here, we have no power to unveil the cause of her death. Just get me right please," he told The Citizen via a phone interview.
However, according to BMC public relation officer Lucy Mogele, the nun died early yesterday and before the incident, she was seen uncomfortable and solitary.
"We do not give any details when these kind of incidents take place, therefore contact the right people who are in Bukoba," further said Mogele.
Meanwhile, one of the doctors at the facility who claimed for anonymity said she might have jumped and fallen from a three storey building on Sunday.
Mwanza Police Boss, Jonathan Shana confirmed the death, adding that intensive investigations were underway to establish the reasons behind the incident.
"We got this information this morning and we are yet to know the exact cause of Susan's death," said RPC Shana.
