Unguja. Yas, one of Tanzania’s fastest-growing digital lifestyle brands, has launched a new campaign in Zanzibar aimed at inspiring innovation and expanding digital inclusion across the islands.

Dubbed “Anzia Ulipo”—Swahili for “Start Where You Are”—the campaign was officially unveiled on June 10, 2025, in a ceremony attended by key stakeholders, development partners, and members of the press.

Speaking at the launch, Yas Zonal Director for Zanzibar, Mr. Aziz Ali Said, described the initiative as a call to action for Zanzibaris to embrace the power of technology to transform their lives.

Anzia Ulipo is more than a slogan—it’s a mindset. We want to inspire every young person, every entrepreneur, every creative in Zanzibar to use what they have today and begin their journey toward success,” said Mr. Aziz. “You don’t have to wait for perfect conditions. The right time is now.”

Mr. Aziz praised the warm reception of Yas and its youth-focused sub-brand Mixx by Yas since entering the Zanzibar market, saying the brands have quickly become symbols of opportunity, innovation, and progress.

As part of its broader mission to make technology accessible to all, Yas continues to invest in digital infrastructure, including high-speed 4G and expanding 5G networks, across both Mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar. According to Mr. Aziz, this foundation is already enabling major strides in sectors such as education, health, business, and agriculture.

“We are witnessing a surge in online businesses, digital farming solutions, youth-led content creation, and even tech-driven fashion design,” he noted. “All of this is made possible by the robust infrastructure and digital services we’ve put in place.”

The Anzia Ulipo campaign seeks not only to promote technology adoption but also to empower individuals psychologically and economically—especially those who feel limited by their current circumstances. Yas aims to provide practical tools and tailored services that allow users to turn ambition into tangible success.

Mr. Aziz concluded by reaffirming the company’s commitment to walk alongside Zanzibaris as a digital partner in their personal and professional growth.

“We believe in the potential of every Zanzibari, and we’re here to support that journey with technology that unlocks opportunities.”

Yas’s latest initiative reflects a broader shift toward inclusive digital growth in Tanzania, reinforcing the role of technology as a driver of economic transformation and individual empowerment.
