Dar es Salaam. Two days after suffering their heaviest defeats in 41 years at the hands of their arch-rivals Young Africans (Yanga), in the Mainland Tanzania Premier League match, Simba Sports Club have parted ways with their Brazilian tactician, Roberto Oliveira Goncalves do Carmo, aka Robertinho, the club has announced.

Robertinho joined the club on January 3, 2023, just days after parting ways with Uganda Premier League outfit Vipers SC on December 30, 2022.

The Brazilian joined Tanzanian tactician Juma Mgunda, who led the team following Zoran Maki's exit in September 2022.

A statement from Simba, signed by Chief Executive Officer Imani Kajula, said that after a thorough evaluation and consultation, both parties have reached the decision in accordance with their agreement and for the common good.

The statement said that Simba's assistant coach, Daniel Cadena, will now lead the team as they search for a replacement. Cadena will be assisted by youth coach Selemani Matola.

In addition, the club has also made changes to the technical bench by terminating the contract of team’s physio Cornelille Hategemana.

"Simba's management thanks Robertinho and Hategemana for the success they have achieved during their service to the club and wishes them well in their other roles wherever they are going," the statement said.
