Dar es Salaam. Betting company Sokabet paid out a total of Sh44, 658,787,637 to different winners during August, the company has said.
Sokabet Tanzania Assistant Customer Service Manager, Lazaro Mduma, said this during a ceremony to hand over winnings to one of the successful players, R. Likwawa, who won Sh143.1 million through the Shining Crown game.
Mduma said Likwawa was among the players who won large amounts of money through various games during the month, finishing second on the list of the biggest winners, while A. Mwakalinga topped the list after winning Sh180 million.
Mwakalinga won the money through the online slot game 20 Burning Hot, offered by Sokabet Tanzania.
Mduma said B. Mushi was third after winning Sh109 million through 40 Extra Crown Buy Bonus, while F. Mwasumbi won Sh98.48 million and E. Kessy took home Sh82.8 million through 40 Super Hot.
Other winners included H. Omary, who won Sh80 million, G. Nkya with Sh50.3 million, M. Mbwambo with Sh24.2 million and E. Shirima, who won Sh24 million through the Live Casino Crazy Time game.
The list also included Asha Kimaro, who won Sh21.53 million, D. Massawe with Sh21.29 million and N. Mgaya, who won Sh20 million through the Monopoly game. Other winners were H. Chande, who won Sh19.6 million, G. Mwakasege with Sh18.76 million and K. Lyimo, who won Sh17.34 million.
