Dar es Salaam. Vodacom Tanzania Plc, in collaboration with the Tanzania Golf Union (TGU), has emerged as the main sponsor of the 2025 Vodacom Tanzania Open, expected to host over 150 golf players from Tanzania as well as across Eastern and Southern Africa.

Consulting firm HLB Tanzania  is also among the event’s sponsors.

The tournament is scheduled to take place at Kili Golf Course in Arusha from October 2 to 5. Now in its third season, spanning Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar, the event forms part of an ongoing initiative to promote the development of golf across the country.

 As Vodacom marks its 25th anniversary, the company aims to solidify its position as the leading network supporting golf in Tanzania.

More than just a competition, the Tanzania Open serves as a platform to showcase talent, foster unity, and promote innovation in sports. By combining the sport’s heritage with modern technology, Vodacom is championing inclusivity and community engagement in golf.

Speaking yesterday, Joseph Sayi, Head of Marketing and Enablement at Vodacom Business, said that the partnership underscores Vodacom’s commitment to growing sports in Tanzania while showing how technology can enhance people’s lives.
