Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, Minister of State in the President’s Office (Labour, Economy and Investment), Mr Shariff Ali Shariff, said the participants include local and international investors, government officials, financial institutions, and development partners.

“I wish to inform you that by the close of registration, more than 600 participants had confirmed attendance. These include local and foreign investors, government leaders, financial institutions, and development partners,” said Mr Shariff.

He said the summit takes place as the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar continues to implement reforms aimed at improving the business and investment environment, boosting economic growth, creating jobs, and improve citizens’ welfare.

“The Zanzibar Investment Summit 2026 will serve as a key platform bringing together stakeholders to identify new investment and business opportunities that will contribute to Zanzibar’s development,” he said.

The summit, scheduled for June 3 to 5, will feature business and investment exhibitions, business-to-business (B2B) meetings, investment forums, specialised training sessions, and field visits to strategic investment areas and projects organised by Zanzibar investment authorities.

He added that the government would continue taking decisive steps to improve the business and investment environment to attract productive capital into priority sectors, including tourism, the blue economy, industry, agriculture, livestock, fisheries, energy, financial services, and infrastructure.

The Zanzibar Investment Promotion Authority (Zipa) executive director, Mr Saleh Saad Mohamed, said the summit will also witness the signing of cooperation agreements on investment promotion, including between Zipa and Afreximbank, as well as the launch of key reports and investment-related documents.
