Dodoma. The deputy speaker of the Parliament of Tanzania, Dr Tulia Ackson, has directed the minister for Works, Transport and Communications, Prof Makame Mbarawa, to clarify the ongoing dispute between the Usafiri Dar es Salaam Rapid Transit (UDART) agency and the MaxMalipo system operator, Maxicom Africa Plc.

The directive comes in response to parliamentary questions by two Dar es Salaam MPs, namely: Maulid Mtulia (Kinondoni Constituency on the CCM ticket) and Saed Kubenea (Ubungo constituency; Chadema). Both MPs had sought guidance of the deputy speaker regarding the dispute between the two agencies that has been playing havoc with commuter transport ticketing in the nation’s biggest metropolis.
