One person dies, 15 others injured in a crash involving a Bus and a truck in Iringa

The truck’s driver was blamed for entering the main road without taking precautions.
Dar es Salaam. One person has been confirmed dead, 15 others injured in a road accident involving a New Force bus and a truck in Mafinga- Nyololo area in Iringa Region.
Mufindi District Commissioner, Mr Jamhuri William, told The Citizen that the accident occurred at Sao Hill forest, noting that the truck driver died on the spot. The vehicles were left extensively damaged.
The bus headed to Mbeya from Dar es Salaam. It overturned on impact and left passengers with injuries.
“We are still tending to survivors but currently only the truck’s driver is confirmed dead. At least 15 others have been seriously wounded,” he said.
He said some survivors have been taken to a hospital in Mafinga for treatment.
