Karatu. The CCM Ideology and Publicity secretary, Humphrey Polepole has called on Chadema leaders in Karatu District to start looking for other jobs because their 25-year reign in the constituency will soon come to end.

Speaking at a ceremony to lay the foundation stone for inauguration of the CCM branch in Karatu town, Mr Polepole, said the opposition’s stronghold will completely collapse after the 2020 general election.

"Time for Karatu to be led by Chadema is nearing its climax. The 25-year Chadema reign will be over next year, so it is its leaders in this district start looking for other jobs,” he said.

He claimed that Karatu is still underdeveloped because of embracing the opposition for over two decades.

The constituency is under Chadema since 1995 when Dr Wilbroad Slaa, the incumbent Tanzania envoy in Sweden, was elected.
