Tabora. Police are holding three people in connection with the killing of Isanjandugu hamlet resident Kang'wa Darushi, 70, at Chabutwa Ward in Sikonge District.

Tabora Regional Police Commander Emmanuel Nley told The Citizen on Monday, February 11, 2019, that two of those held are suspected of hiring a man to kill Darushi.

He alleged that the cause of the killings was to inherit his properties including 70,000 cattle.

He said Darushi went missing on February 6 this year and that police launched an investigation into the matter after receiving a report.

“Police discovered that the suspects killed the deceased and threw his body into a water well, one kilometre away from his house,” he said.

He alleged that the suspected killer was given Sh200,000 and was promised to receive 10 cattle for his work.

He said police were still questioning the suspects and would be arraigned.
