Suma JKT has collected Sh2.69 billion from defaulters

Dodoma. Ministries and various government institutions have repaid some Sh2.69 billion as part of the money that they owed the economic wing of the National Service, Suma JKT for security services rendered.   

The payment is equivalent to 58.8 per cent of a total debt of Sh4.65billion, according to Defence and National Service budget speech.    

Reading the speech of the Parliamentary committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Security on behalf of the chairman, Lupa lawmaker Victor Mwambalaswa (CCM), said they were told by the responsible ministry that Suma JKT used various techniques to collect the debt.

The approache included the use of Suma Auction Mart and suspending services to defaulters.

The Defense and National Service minister, Dr Hussein Mwinyi, Thursday requested Parliament to endorse Sh1.84 trillion for the next fiscal year.
